Bradford man dies from injuries related to June crash
Police say a Bradford man has died from injuries he got after crashing into a telephone pole on Route 5 in mid-June. The crash happened on June 19 near the intersection of Charles Field Road and VT 5. Police say the driver, Jackson Metayer, 32, crashed into a telephone pole and the car caught on fire. A bystander driving by was able to put the fire out with an extinguisher.

On Saturday evening, around 5:57pm, law enforcement officers were dispatched to Park Place following a reported assault. After an investigation, the suspect was identified as Brandon Bane from Stockton, CA. It was discovered that Bane behaved aggressively, threatening to kill the victim and even claiming to have a knife in his possession. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Further investigation revealed that the day before, Bane had targeted a juvenile with racial slurs and shouted ‘white power’ in a downtown area. Bane was apprehended and taken into custody, then transferred to Brattleboro Police Department where he was held on $200.00 bail. He was set to appear in Windham County Superior Court for arraignment on charges including Larceny from a Person, Simple Assault, and Aggravated Disorderly Conduct (Hate Motivated).

Man charged with negligent operation in Bethel
BETHEL — A Williamstown man was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle following a complaint received by Royalton Barracks troopers on July 14. Thaddeus Whitcomb, 30, was issued a criminal citation after an investigation by state troopers into a motor vehicle complaint that began in the town of Royalton and continued into Bethel.
