SPOKANE, Wash. — There was a familiar face back in Spokane this weekend: former Gonzaga Bulldog Rasir Bolton. Bolton visited the Lilac City and was at Hoopfest on Sunday as he and current Zag Ben Gregg were presented with the "Big Heart Award" from Giving Back Spokane for their community service, which included raising money to help feed, house, and clothe children and families in and around Spokane who are struggling with poverty and homelessness. Giving back to the community that took him in during his time at Gonzaga is very important to Bolton, and he was excited to receive this award.
Elijah Gurash Named Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Gurash has spent the past six seasons as an assistant coach at Division III Whitworth College in Spokane, Wash. He was elevated as the program’s top assistant coach in 2022. During that six-year tenure, the Pirates went 116-41 overall, including a 71-19 record within the Northwest Conference, and captured three conference championships (2020, 2022, 2024), three conference tournament championships (2022, 2023, 2024) and made four NCAA Tournament appearances (2020, 2022, 2023, 2024).
