The FBI Richmond Field Office and the King and Queen County Sheriff’s Office announced a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for James Edward "Scooter” Byrd’s murder on the eighth anniversary of his death. Byrd was shot and killed when several people entered his home during the early morning hours of August 16, 2016. His younger brother, who was 13 at the time, was asleep down the hall but was awoken when he heard the shots. He would later run to a neighbor’s house to call 911.
