The Chicago Fire are looking to make it three straight wins when they travel to Florida on Saturday to take on conference rivals Orlando City SC for the second time in less than a month.

The Fire (4-6-8, 18 points, 13th in Eastern Conference) appear to have finally hit their stride after a painfully slow start to the 2024 Major League Soccer season. Chicago is without a loss in its last four and finally scored multiple goals in consecutive games in its previous two victories entering this weekend.

Orlando (4-6-8, 18 points, 14th in Eastern Conference) is behind the Fire in the standings on goal-differential and hasn’t won a match in its last five. Duncan McGuire, who’s somehow still with Orlando after the chaos he endured trying to move to Blackburn Rovers, leads his side with six goals, and Facundo Torres is behind him with three.

The last time these two sides faced off, Chicago split the points after a 1-1 draw that included a calamitous goal concession in the fourth minute.

The Fire are in a better place than they were when they first faced Orlando, according to Rafael Czichos.

“I think we are on a different level right now,” said Czichos after training this week. “The confidence is back. And that's what we want to show in Orlando. We know it's going to be a battle. It's going to be hot and very difficult. against this team they want to play they have really good players, especially in the offense. But we are aware of it and we're well prepared.”

The Fire must come out ready and firing if they want to maintain their winning ways in Orlando.
