With Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever and Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky in an extremely close battle for the WNBA Rookie of the Year award, it will be a very tough decision to make at the end of the season.

For a while Clark looked like the clear pick. However, after Reese's historical performance in the Sky's victory over the Fever, it now appears to be neck and neck. It's hard to compare the two players overall as they are truly apples and oranges, especially in what they bring to the table, but they both have great impacts on their teams.

That said, one player has a higher impact on their team than the other, which could put an end to the Rookie of the Year debate. Not only does Reese have the highest player impact rating among rookies, but she has the highest efficiency rating as well. While this may not seem like a stat that could determine a Rookie of the Year, it has in years past.

As this tweet points out, both the 2023 WNBA and NBA Rookie of the Year's ranked first among rookies in both categories. This stat could be very useful in the Clark vs. Reese debate, as the biggest argument for each will be the overall impact on their team. As it stands, Reese could now be considered the favorite to win the award, or at least the more deserving.
