Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese's Rookie of the Year battle continues to intensify. On Thursday, the race between the Indiana Fever guard and Chicago Sky wing got even tighter after they set new records.

Both the Sky and Fever lost in their respective games, but it didn't stop the two rising stars from making history.

Reese finished with 18 points and 11 rebounds in a losing effort against the Las Vegas Aces. Aside from her double-double streak extending to nine straight games—making her the youngest ever to do it at 22 points—the Sky rookie has also now breached the 200-point and 175-rebound mark.

According to StatMamba, Reese is the fastest to do it since Tina Charles in 2010. Charles needed 14 games to do it, while Reese reached it after 16 outings.

Meanwhile, Clark made history as the fastest WNBA player to reach at least 300 points, 100 rebounds, and 100 assists following their battle against the Seattle Storm, per StatMamba.

The Fever sharpshooter finished the night with 15 points, six rebounds, and seven assists to help her reach those benchmark statistics. The meeting with the Storm was just her 19th game of the season.

With their performances, both Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese certainly strengthened their cases as the Rookie of the Year frontrunners. The WNBA fanbase has been largely split between the two heading to Thursday's slate of games, and sure enough, the choice is only getting harder each time they go out on the court and play.

By the looks of it, the Rookie of the Year battle between Clark and Reese might come down to whoever dominates more consistently.
