CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A trip to the top of Navy Pier’s Centennial Wheel took a frustrating turn for several people who found themselves stranded on the ferris wheel on Saturday night.

It happened around 10 p.m. Riders were stuck on the Centennial Wheel due to what a Navy Pier spokesperson described as a circuit breaker issue.

The breakdown left passengers stuck for at least 90 minutes, Navy Pier officials said. The riders were eventually able to exit safely with no injuries reported.

It wasn’t clear how many people were on the wheel when it broke down. The Centennial Wheel was back up and running later on Saturday evening.

    No other information was available.
