Chicago Sky Coach Receives Technical Foul After Defending Angel Reese

Chicago Sky head coach Teresa Weatherspoon picked up a technical foul after a supposed non-call on Angel Reese in the team's latest matchup against the New York Liberty.

Weatherspoon was whistled for a tech in the fourth quarter of the 81-67 loss to New York. According to ClutchPoints' Chicago Sky reporter Christopher Smith, the first-year head coach was frustrated with the officials, which led to the flare-up "down the stretch."

Reese also picked up a technical foul earlier in the fourth quarter when Chicago was attempting to come back from a seven-point deficit. The rookie out of LSU ended the game with five personal fouls.

Her double-double streak of 15 consecutive games came to an end, notching eight points and 16 rebounds in the loss.

Weatherspoon and Reese were clearly frustrated as the 6-foot-3 forward struggled on the offensive end. The rookie finished the game shooting 23.1% from the field.

She went into the match averaging 13.8 points and 11.8 rebounds. While she was able to get the job done on the glass against New York, the Sky's offensive game was hurt by an aggressive Liberty defense.

Chicago also finished the game with immense struggles in the turnover category, having a 17-5 turnover comparison with New York.

The Sky have now lost back-to-back games against the Liberty, dropping to 9-14 on the season.
