Angel Reese didn't think her WNBA rookie season with the Chicago Sky would be as great as it is today. After all, she had this expectation that everyone would make her first year really hard.

Reese admitted as much while talking to the media on Friday before the WNBA All-Star Game scheduled on Saturday. When asked about her biggest myth about the league, the Sky forward noted that she thought her teammates would be "mean" to her.

"I thought they were going to be mean to me as a rookie. I thought I was gonna have to do all these stuff as a rookie," Reese said while smiling, via Sara Jane Gamelli of Ball Is Life.

"My teammates have been great. I felt I had a great rookie experience. The vets have been great, not on just my team but the other team, they've really welcomed me, so it's not as scary as I thought it was gonna be."

Angel Reese is certainly having quite a rookie season. Not only is she enjoying her time with the Sky and quickly developing bonds with her teammates, but she has also impressed on the court.

When the Sky selected her with the seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, many critics doubted whether Reese's skills would translate into the pros. Not only did she erase those concerns, but she also has exceeded all expectations by becoming an All-Star and one of the frontrunners for Rookie of the Year.
