Chicago White Sox pitcher Erick Fedde.

We cashed our first Look of the Day following the All-Star break thanks to the Detroit Tigers, and we're looking to keep the profit train rolling into the new week. Let's check out our favorite look for Monday's MLB slate.

Look of the Day: Erick Fedde over 16.5 outs recorded (-114 FanDuel )

Fedde isn't getting enough credit for how good he's been on an abysmal team this season. The veteran right-hander, who didn't even play in the United States last year, is 7-3 with a career-best 2.99 ERA and a 1.132 WHIP. He's also recording career-best marks in xwOBA (.299), xBA (.239) and xSLG (.392), and he ranks in the 94th percentile in pitching run value (+14).

Fedde doesn't have a high whiff rate (22.0 percent), but that's allowing him to get quicker outs by forcing hitters to make weak contact. Using this strategy, Fedde has gone over this line in 10 of his last 14 starts and five of his last six.

The Texas Rangers have one of the most aggressive lineups in MLB. They rank fourth in the league in first-pitch swing rate, 11th in swing rate and sixth in zone contact rate. The Rangers will try to jump on Fedde early and often, and that won't be successful based on how they're swinging the bat right now.

In three games since the All-Star break, Texas ranks dead last in MLB in batting average (.154), 27th in OPS (.512) and 27th in wRC+ (50). This is a solid matchup for Fedde, and he should have a long leash coming off 12 days of rest.
