The Chicago Cubs are coming off a disappointing loss on Saturday after giving up a three run lead in the final innings of the contest against the St. Louis Cardinals. They will look to bounce back with a chance to win the series in the finale on Sunday.
Justin Steele (2-5, 3.38 ERA) is another pitcher from the Cubs who is happy to see July go. After beginning the month with his first complete game in his carer, the 29 year old struggled in multiple starts across the month. He allowed five or more runs on two different occasions in July including his last outing against the Cincinnati Reds.
The Cardinals will go with Miles Mikolas (8-8. 4.99 ERA) in the series finale on Sunday. Mikolas finished July with two back to back quality starts. In his last outing, he received the no decision after throwing six innings against the Washington Nationals allowing three hits and recording three strikeouts.
