The Chicago Sky and the entire WNBA have been off for quite some time due to the Olympics. But the league is set to resume play on Thursday, August 15.

The Sky host the Phoenix Mercury in one of three games on that day, and it will be interesting to see how the players do after a lengthy layoff.

The Sky got some concerning news when Chennedy Carter tweaked her ankle during practice and left early to get it checked out, per Sky beat reporter Christopher Smith.

"Chennedy Carter appeared to tweak her ankle during a scrimmage at Sky practice on Wednesday," Smith wrote on X. "She left the court to get it checked out. Hopefully, it is not a serious injury."

But Carter quickly took to X to give Sky fans a huge sigh of relief.

"update: God is working !!" Carter posted on X. "ankle will be fine thank you for the well wishes"

That's certainly good news for the Sky and their fans, especially after they were worried following the initial update.

Carter has been involved in controversy this year after the Caitlin Clark debacle, but she has been the team's leading scorer.

Carter has a team-high 17.2 PPG with 2.9 rebounds and 2.7 assists, so she has been a constant force in the lineup even with Angel Reese's strong play.

The Sky are just 10-14 on the season and have a tough climb if they want to make the playoffs. Chennedy Carter's play will be a big part of that, so it's encouraging that her ankle injury isn't serious.
