CHISHOLM—The Chisholm School Board on Monday took action on a land exchange between the school district and City of Chisholm. Similar action was taken by the Chisholm City Council earlier this year.

School district owned parcels involved in the swap include the park located on First Street Southwest near the Chisholm Police Station, named Chisholm Community Foundation Park, Little League ballfields near the Lincoln Square on Fourth Avenue Northwest and a parcel on Fifth Street Southeast, where a city lift station is located.

The city owned properties involved with the swap consist of the football field and ball fields in the Memorial Park complex.

No money is being exchanged for any difference in valuation, according to the agreement.

The city is reserving the right to purchase the properties it is swapping with the school for $100, should the school ever declare them unuseful. It’s noted in the agreement that the Chisholm Community Foundation Park will continue as its current designated use.

The board took up the following other matters on Monday.

    • Accepted the resignation of Donald Quirk from his position as Level I Softball Coach, retroactive to June 5.

    • Accepted the resignation of Darlyn Hanson from her position as paraprofessional, effective June 30.

    • Approved a contract for food service management between the district and INAC, from July 1 2024 to June 30, 2025. The contract represents a 3% increase, according to Chisholm School Superintendent Mark Morrison.
