    Pedestrian killed in fatal hit-and-run, State Troopers investigating

    Troopers with North Carolina State Highway Patrol are investigating a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a Chocowinity man.

    On Saturday, July 20, at approximately 6:30 a.m., troopers responded to a fatal hit-and-run on U.S. Highway 17 at the intersection of Possum Track Road in Beaufort County, Master Trooper Rico Stephens shared with the Daily News.

    The victim was identified as 44-year-old William Crisp of Chocowinity.

    The incident remains under investigation by Highway Patrol.
