Greensboro carnival draws crowd for 51st year
GREENSBORO — The carnival, which is the Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company’s biggest fundraiser of the year, wasn’t slowed down by last week’s steamy weather. Betterton Beach temporarily closed by order of health department
BETTERTON — Approximately 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Health Department shut down Betterton Beach due to a sewage leak from one of the pump stations. The beach has been posted with signage warning "no swimming." Wednesday afternoon after the announcement, the beach was near empty, a stark difference after having almost 1,000 people in attendance over July 4th. The numbers of visitors to Betterton Beach during the summer are usually close to 400 on non-holiday weekends. Greensboro Town Hall closed due to bat infestation
GREENSBORO — The Town Hall building in Greensboro is currently closed due to a bat infestation found over the weekend. The town initially discovered a swarm of bats on Friday morning. Rock Hall Receives $300K Grant Award
The Town of Rock Hall and Main Street Rock Hall have been awarded a $300,000 Project Restore 2.0 grant from the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development to fund improvements in three currently vacant buildings on Main Street. The three building improvement projects will include 5781 Main Street (Rock Hall Brewing Company), 5758 Main Street (Bay Breeze Inn II), and 5761 Main Street (The Rubin Rodney Building).

SHORERIVERS USES GRANT FUNDING TO BENEFIT LOCAL WATERWAYS
ShoreRivers is proud to be in the midst of four separate projects to develop and design conservation and best management practices that will, in turn, protect local waterways. The restorative design of a headwater stream on the mainstem of the Sassafras River is the focus of one project as part of a holistic, nature-based conservation approach for the property. ShoreRivers has contracted Ecotone for the design, which will concentrate on reconnecting the historic floodplain and developing a dynamic stream/wetland complex that will provide stormwater storage, nutrient processing, habitat uplift, downstream flood mitigation and resiliency, and carbon sequestration.
