EASTON — On Monday evening, Talbot County’s chapter of Moms for Liberty, a nationwide conservative political organization, held a meeting with Sharon Pepukayi, superintendent of Talbot County Public Schools, and other district professionals. Busch Annapolis Library Hosts ‘For the Love of the Library’ Fundraiser
The Busch Annapolis Library will host its annual fundraising event, ‘For the Love of the Library’ (FTLOTL), on Friday, September 27, from 6 to 8 pm. A season of singing is about to begin! Cecil County Choral Society preps for new season
ELKTON — Cecil County Choral Society is kicking off its new fall season with a Potluck Dinner Sept. 10 at 6 p.m. at Elkton United Methodist Church, 219 East Main St. The potluck is open to current members and anyone who is passionate about singing or curious about the Cecil County Choral Society. Please bring a dish to share. The first rehearsal of the season is set for Sept. 17, starting at 6:30 p.m. also at Elkton UMC. There is no audition. Ongoing rehearsals will be held every Tuesday at 7 p.m. The Cecil County Choral Society will perform three holiday concerts in December at various locations. Boutique hotel developer presents plans to Cambridge City Council
Plans for a boutique hotel in the works for the Cambridge Waterfront were presented Monday, August 26 to Cambridge City Council. If approved, the hotel would likely be located near the old Governor's Hall at Sailwinds Park, according to Mayor Stephen Rideout. "It may not be there exactly, but in that general location which will also be near/next to Yacht Maintenance," Rideout wrote in a follow-up email query.
Dover Police Arrest New Jersey Man on Identity Theft Charges
DOVER, DE - The Dover Police Department has arrested a New Jersey man on charges of allegedly stealing over $100,000 through identity theft. Police say they were first notified of a fraudulent withdrawal from a victim’s account for over $170,000 scheduled for 11 a.m. at Citizens Bank on North DuPont Highway on August 28th. Further investigation, according to police, revealed over $100,000 had been previously taken from the victim’s account by someone using fake identification. Police say the suspect was described as a white male with gray hair and a thin build.

CCBC to hold candlelight vigil for former student slain at Rice University
ROSEDALE, MD—The Community College of Baltimore County will hold a candlelight vigil for a former student who was killed earlier this week at Rice University. Andrea Rodriguez Avila, 21, of Nottingham, died on Monday in an apparent murder-suicide. Investigators have learned that Avila and the suspect had been in a dating relationship.
Women’s Tennis Welcomes Six Newcomers for 2024-25 Season
ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Navy women's tennis head coach Keith Puryear announced the addition of six freshmen for the 2024-25 campaign on Thursday. A group that was rated as the 12th-best mid-major recruiting class by the Tennis Recruiting Network, Puryear and associate head coach Alessandra Pedergnana will welcome newcomers Peyton Amspacher-Philemon, Molly Bellia, Emma Gu, Grace Li, Ji Soo Oh and Vanessa Popescu to the team as the Midshipmen prepare to open the fall slate on Sept. 6 at the Bill & Sandra Moore Invitational.
