A popular Cincinnati food truck will soon open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant.

Sweets & Meats BBQ will host a grand opening ceremony for its new restaurant, located in The Cincinnati Herald Building at 3440 Burnet Avenue in Avondale, on Thursday, Sept. 12. The opening day will begin with a presentation at 10:30 a.m. and continue with a ribbon-cutting ceremony 11 a.m.

According to the restaurant's website , Sweets & Meats BBQ was started in 2014 by Kristen Bailey and Anton Gaffney when the duo set up a tent in the Mount Washington Creamy Whip parking lot. Bailey and Gaffney then launched their first food trailer in 2016, and a catering and events space in 2017.

The menu also includes a few unique offerings including pulled pork and pulled chicken quesadillas and a "BBQ 4-Way," which consists of baked macaroni and cheese topped with pulled pork or pulled chicken, coleslaw, and barbecue sauce.

Sweets & Meats BBQ will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday for dine-in or take-out.
