Cincinnati weather: Thunderstorms, flooding possible Friday; then dry weekend ahead

Thunderstorms are slated to continue on Friday before dry weather returns to Cincinnati this weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop Friday. A few severe storms are possible, with damaging winds being the primary threat.

Heavy rainfall is also possible which may result in localized flooding, per a hazardous weather outlook. Temperatures will range from the mid- to the upper 80s.

The Ohio Valley area will dry out over the weekend. Cloud coverage will decrease by Saturday evening as surface high pressure builds into the area. Highs will range from 80 to 85.

Fair weather conditions will continue on Sunday, with temperatures near or slightly below July averages. Warm and humid conditions are slated to return on Monday. The next threat for showers and thunderstorms will occur on Tuesday.

Light west wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. The chance of precipitation is 60%.
