Joe Burrow shows off drastic new look with brave hairstyle ahead of NFL comeback

Joe Burrow is sporting a new buzzcut haircut as the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback prepares to return to NFL action in 2024.

Burrow was spotted working out at a gym recently ahead of the start of the Bengals' training camp. With cameras rolling, Burrow appeared in the background - without his signature brown locks.

It sent some Bengals fans into a frenzy. Burrow has looked like a walking billboard for high-end men’s hair products since he entered the league as the first overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft , but it appears the superstar quarterback has decided to go for a simpler look.

Burrow appears to have buzzed off all of his hair, seeming like he just returned from a stint with the military. There were some doubts regarding whether it was truly Burrow, but one of his friends posted a pic of him on Instagram too.

The 27-year-old’s hair has been a topic of discussion on numerous occasions. He still had his long, flowing locks during spring practices, though the mop seemed to be getting in the way a bit when he was delivering passes.

Burrow has been known to mess around with his hair. Last year, he famously got a trim following one of his worst career games against the Cleveland Browns .

Burrow is the highest-paid player in the NFL, boasting a salary of $55 million per year. He is clearly not spending that money on maintaining his hair as the former Heisman Trophy winner looks for success with the Bengals.

He will hope the new look brings him some protection from injury. Burrow only made it through 10 games before he needed season-ending wrist surgery , boasting a dominant passer rating of 91.0 with 2,309 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions.

But his injury hurt the Bengals, who limped to a still-impressive 9-8 record. While the franchise finished bottom of the competitive AFC North, Burrow and co. will look to return to the Super Bowl and hoist the Lombardi Trophy at the end of the 2024 season.

The high-flying Bengals offense is under pressure to deliver this year; Tee Higgins has been franchise tagged ahead of the upcoming campaign, while Ja'Marr Chase is looking for a blockbuster new contract in line with the top receivers in the league. When the Bengals start training camp next week, it'll mark the start of potentially the last run of Burrow, Chase and Higgins all in the same offense.
