The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Thursday that they'll be inducting former All-Pro defensive tackle Tim Krumrie and four-time Pro Bowl running back Corey Dillon into the franchise's Ring of Honor in September.

The decision comes one year after Dillon gave an explosive interview to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic in which he called out Bengals Ring of Honor voters for what he called his "damn-near criminal" omission from the exclusive club. Per the senior writer, the 49-year-old ranted during a "27-minute eruption of facts and frustration."

"You know the f—ery that’s going on," Dillon told Dehner Jr. "It’s damn-near criminal, what (voters) are pulling off, to be honest with you. ... Did I not play for them? I don’t know, bro. I’m curious about that. Because it looks like they are glossing over me. ... I’m pretty sure they will put f—ing Jon Kitna in there before they put me. Matter of fact, Scott Mitchell will end up in that motherf—er before I do."

Dehner Jr. wrote on Thursday that he believes the University of Washington product still has a solid argument to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

While Dillon's potential induction into the Hall of Fame remains up in the air, his selection to the Bengals' Ring of Honor seems well overdue.

Dillon, who played for the Bengals from 1997-2003,  is the franchise's all-time leading rusher with 8,061 yards. The next closest back on the team's leaderboard is James Brooks (6,447 yards), who played in 11 more games than Dillon. Brooks donned the tiger stripes from 1984-91.

In addition to Dillon's yardage total, he also has the third-most rushing scores (45) in franchise history, with his 96-yard scamper in a 2001 game against the Detroit Lions the longest run for Cincinnati and his 75.3 rushing yards per game edges out Cedric Benson (74.6) for the highest average of any Bengals player.
