Bengals WR Ja'Marr Chase gives Patrick Mahomes the Voldemort treatment in NFL Top 100 clip

Characters in the Harry Potter universe refer to Lord Voldemort as "He Who Must Not Be Named." They're too afraid to speak his real name, knowing he can kill them with ease.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes isn't a mass murderer, but he does play football like a wizard sometimes and has effectively ended the Cincinnati Bengals' last two seasons.

And for that reason, Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase refused to speak Mahomes' name when asked who was the top player in this year's NFL Top 100.

"I'm not saying him," Chase said, referring to Cincinnati's top nemesis. "I give credit when it's due but I'm not saying his name."

One of the world's worst-kept secrets is Chase's distain for the Chiefs . He refused to pick them to win the most recent Super Bowl even when the Bengals were eliminated. His most recent game against them featured a scuffle with former KC cornerback L'Jarius Sneed .

It's a definitive hatred, but even Chase has to recognize what they've done. Kansas City is undoubtedly the top team in the league after winning three of the last five Super Bowls, and it's mostly because of the guy Chase won't name at quarterback.

    And that stirs him up.

"He's good, he's amazing," Chase admitted. "He's good, not gonna lie. I'm salty, though. I'm a little salty."

For Chiefs fans, this is probably annoying. Mahomes' undeniable greatness deserves all the flowers that come with it. Chase has had several great moments against the reigning champions in his three years in the league, and not hearing him even say Mahomes' name sounds more than just being "a little salty."

On the flip side, Chase would only say Joe Burrow's name in the conversation, and that sustained loyalty will only make those in Cincinnati love him more. Chase has no interest in being diplomatic, only being loyal to what matters: his quarterback and team.

And he has no issue sharing that with the rest of the league.
