Ahead of a three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds, the Tampa Bay Rays traded outfielder Randy Arozarena to the Seattle Mariners on Thursday night, for minor-league outfielder Aidan Smith and right-handed pitcher Brody Hopkins.

During a three-game series against the Reds in April 2023 at Great American Ball Park, Arozarena was 7-for-14 with a stolen base and three runs scored. In the Rays' 10-0 win April 18 , Arozarena homered off of Nick Lodolo, who is scheduled to start Friday's series opener for Cincinnati.

Arozarena also homered off of Lodolo in the Rays' 10-5 loss to the Reds in July 2022 at GABP.

Paul Goldschmidt and Josh Jung are the only other players with multiple home runs off of Lodolo.

Arozarena was an All-Star in 2023. This season, he's batting .213 with 15 home runs and 16 stolen bases.

He was named the American League Rookie of the Year in 2021, the year Jonathan India won National League Rookie of the Year honors for the Reds.
