Bengals get another offensive weapon as rookie TE returns from injury

The Cincinnati Bengals offense of 2024 is going to look considerably different from the offense that fans have been used to. Quarterback Joe Burrow is back and healthy, so it should run well, but with a lot of new parts, there could be some bumps in the road along the way.

Gone are long-time major contributors like wide receiver Tyler Boyd and running back Joe Mixon. In are pieces like former Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots tight end Mike Gesicki and former Indianapolis Colts and Buffalo Bills running back Zack Moss. Today, the Bengals also got word that they’re going to be able to integrate another weapon into their offense: tight end Erick All.

The Bengals took former Michigan Wolverines and Iowa Hawkeyes tight end Erick All in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft , not knowing exactly when he would be available for the team. All suffered a significant injury, a torn ACL, midway through his final collegiate season with the Hawkeyes. This came just a year after All suffered a herniated disc injury with the Wolverines that required surgery.

It’s been a long, tough road for All, but it seems like he is well on his way to returning to the field after some terrible luck. If All is able to return to the player he was in college, he could provide a great complement for Gesicki in two tight end sets for the Bengals. But more than just a capable blocker, All is also a receiving threat in his own right.

The combination of Gesicki and All – if he’s healthy – should help give the Bengals offense a somewhat new identity, and one that may help them once again see postseason success.
