There have been few teams that have been more disappointing than the Cincinnati Reds (53-58). However, the good news is the Miami Marlins (42-70) are one of those teams. Earlier this season, the Reds took two of three in Cincinnati. With a four-game set and time running out to make a move on the Wild Card, the Reds need a successful series.

It's a bullpen day for the Reds and Nick Martinez (5-5, 3.64 ERA) is set to open. This will be Martinez's sixth start on the year as he's been more of a long reliever over the last few months. In Martinez's five starts, the Reds are 2-3 with Martinez posting a concerning 10.19 ERA. Given, four of those starts were at least five innings, and that's likely not the plan today.

Santiago Espinal (batting .500/.523/.881 with 21 hits over his last 13 games) is not in the Reds lineup for the second time in three days:

    1.) 2B Jonathan India
2.) SS Elly De La Cruz
    3.) LF Spencer Steer
    4.) CF TJ Friedl
    5.) C Tyler Stephenson
    6.) DH Jeimer Candelario
    7.) 1B Ty France
    8.) RF Jake Fraley
    9.) 3B Noelvi Marte
    SP Nick Martinez

The Marlins will counter with righty Roddery Munoz (2-5, 5.45 ERA). Thus far this year, Munoz has been okay but has a couple of really good starts to his name. He's coming off a five-inning outing where he allowed four hits and surrendered one walk while giving up two runs and striking out seven, tying his career high.

The start before that, however, was a tad rougher. He threw five innings but allowed six hits and walked two for six runs with three home runs allowed. In 13 starts, Munoz has allowed 19 home runs. Four starts featured at least three home runs with one start allowing four.

The Marlins lineup features four who will bat from the left side against Martinez:

    1.) SS Xavier Edwards
    2.) 1B Jake Burger
    3.) RF Jesus Sanchez
    4.) DH Jonah Bride
    5.) LF Kyle Stowers
    6.) 3B Emmanuel Rivera
    7.) 2B Otto Lopez
    8.) CF Vidal Brujan
    9.) C Nick Fortes
    SP Roddery Munoz
