Bengals could bring in Pro Bowl defender in light of injury

The Cincinnati Bengals were dealt a major blow, losing defensive end Cam Sample for the year with a torn achilles.

With that in mind, there are multiple quality free agents available for Cincinnati to bring in, including a Pro Bowler and a familiar face.

    Charles Harris

The former Lion and Dolphin would be a solid addition to the defensive line. His snap percentage has gone down over the last two years as he's aged, but he can be a guy that still gives respectable production in a more limited role.

    Carl Lawson

Lawson was a fourth-round pick of the Bengals in 2017 and had 8.5 sacks as a rookie. In four years with the Bengals, Lawson had 20 sacks. He signed with the Jets in 2021 and missed the entire 2021 season with a torn achilles of his own. He played in all 17 games in 2022, and in six games in 2023. He worked out for the Cowboys last week, and having a familiar face as a reliable rotational hand would make him a good addition.

    Yannick Ngaokoue

The former Por Bowler is 29, and can still contribute in a supporting role. The former Pro Bowler spent last season with the Chicago Bears, where he had four sacks in 13 games. He also had six tackles for loss and seven hits on the quarterback. He's been in the league for nearly a decade, but is still a competent hand that can deliver when called upon.
