DarkHeart Brewing is Coming to Citrus Heights

A new bottleshop and brewpub is joining a vacant space at 7120 Auburn Blvd , the former site of a Goodwill thrift store. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal .

Goodwill Industries of Sacramento Valley & Northern Nevada has closed all retail thrift stores in the Sacramento area, leaving behind a 16,000-square-foot space at Sylvan Corners center in Citrus Heights . Building owner Tom Romeo told the Business Journal that the space will soon be shared by DarkHeart Brewing and shoe retailer Bearpaw Outlet .

DarkHeart Brewing will occupy a 4,000 square-foot space in the building. The Sacramento-based brewery originally operated a few miles down the street at 4339 Auburn Blvd, but closed the location this May. Fortunately, the business received a $60,000 business grant from the City of Citrus Heights, which will lay the foundations for the upcoming location.

The upcoming brewpub will not have a kitchen on-site, said co-owner Cynthia Lee to the Business Journal. Instead, the business will partner with nearby restaurants to provide their customers with food options. The pirate-themed brewery features a handful of flagship beers, including a cream ale, dark Irish red, blonde ale, and a seltzer.

According to the Business Journal, the owners hope to open their doors by Labor Day. What Now Sacramento reached out to Lee but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
