UM Health-Sparrow sees Q1 decrease in drug-related deaths since 2019
LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Fewer people are dying from drugs in Michigan, according to a Q1 report by the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow Forensic Pathology Services. UM Health-Sparrow released its quarter one (Q1) report on drug-related deaths in seven counties, including Clinton, Eaton, Ingham, Ionia, Isabella, Livingston, and Shiawassee, in which it serves as medical examiner.

Maye Tessner Rood Named Grand Marshal
The Harrison Area Chamber of Commerce has named Maye Tessner Rood grand marshal of this year's 4th of July parade. Born in Detroit and raised in Mason, Maye graduated from Mason High School before her family's connection to nature led them to a cabin in the Harrison area in 1966. After her parents permanently moved to the area in the early 1970s, she joined them in the early 1980s to offer support.
