    Chili Topping For Hot Dogs

    • 2 pounds of ground beef
    • 6 tablespoons vegetable oil
    • 3 cups low-sodium chicken broth
    • 11/2 cups tomato juice
    • 1 tablespoon of loose chicken bouillon
    • 2 teaspoons ground cumin
    • 2 tablespoons chili powder
    • 2 teaspoons turmeric
    • 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
    • 8 tablespoons flour
    • 1 package of all beef hot dogs steamed or cooked however you prefer (grilled, fried, air-fried or baked)
    • Open-top hot dog buns warmed ( or regular style buns)
    • Garnish: 1 minced white onion, yellow mustard

    Directions:

Heat the oil in a deep saucepan, brown the beef until all the pink is gone. Turn this down to low heat.

In a small bowl add the flour with the broth and stir until smooth, then add all the seasonings listed. Pour this into the saucepan and simmer until this thickens and creates a thick chili.

In the meantime steam the hotdogs.

    How to Steam Hot Dogs:

Add a few inches of water into a deep saucepan. Place a steamer basket on top to fit the pan. Place the hot dogs in a steamer basket. Put a lid over the top or cover with foil. Steam for around 7 minutes or until the internal temperature of the hot dogs reaches 145 degrees. Note: You can also just boil the hot dogs in boiling water for 8 minutes.

Get your hot dogs assembled in the buns. Add chili on top to each one, garnish with mustard and onions if desired.
