Mizzou-themed sports bar planned in Soulard
ST. LOUIS — A new Mizzou-themed sports bar has plans to open at the former site of Llywelyn's Pub in Soulard. Ray’s SportsHouse expects to open in early to mid-August at 1732 S. Ninth St. The new restaurant is owned by Corbin Ray, a 2021 graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia.

ST. LOUIS – Missouri Baptist University had nine student-athletes named to the College STUNT Coaches Association (CSCA) Honor Roll. Nominated athletes have a cumulative GPA above 3.50 and have completed a minimum of 24 credits/units at their current STUNT institution. Ciara Mallqui-Thomas, Kylie Lamb, and Grace Ketterer added the CSCA Honor Roll to go with their CSCA All-America selections announced in May. Aaliyah Foster, Alanah Williams, Isabel Huenink, Jordan Tinker, Maddie Kandlbinder, and Olivia Topping all made the honor roll as well after posting GPAs north of 3.50. Dutkanych Drafted by St. Louis
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Vanderbilt’s Andrew Dutkanych IV was drafted in the seventh round by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2024 MLB Draft with the 201st overall pick Monday. Dutkanych made five appearances in an injury-shortened sophomore season in 2024. The righty totaled 14 strikeouts over 10.2 innings. He got the start against Eastern Kentucky on February 21, going 4.0 innings with six strikeouts.
Bagwell selected by Atlanta Braves
COLLINSVILLE — Collinsville High School’s Ethan Bagwell had his dreams come true, twice in the span of a little less than nine months. Monday afternoon the 6-4 230 pound pitcher was selected in the sixth round of the Major League Baseball Draft by the Atlanta Braves. Last November he signed a National Letter of Intent to throw for the University of Missouri and the premier conference in college baseball the Southeastern Conference.

Mike Shannon is among the most significant individuals synonymous with the St. Louis Cardinals organization. Born in St. Louis on July 15th, 1939, Shannon grew up in the area and attended Clayton's Christian Brothers College High School. He was an outstanding athlete, winning the Missouri Prep Player of the Year in football and basketball. Football was Shannon's best sport, having signed a letter of intent to play at the University of Missouri.
