Call it the Soggy Summer of 2024. I started counting rain days since the beginning of meteorological summer on June 1. Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport recorded at least a trace of rain on 18 of 30 days in June. July brought rain on 16 of 23 days so far this month.
Tuesday morning storms mostly miss Twin Cities, strong storms still possible in southern Minnesota
MINNEAPOLIS — A storm system moving slowly across Minnesota on Tuesday will mostly miss the Twin Cities.The cluster cralwed across western and central Minnesota before skirting the metro. As of midmorning, southern Minnesota was still dealing with heavy rain.Rain is still possible in the Twin Cities in the afternoon and evening, but after that, we've got a stretch of dry time lasting the rest of the week.Highs will approach 80 on Tuesday in the Twin Cities and remain similar on Wednesday, then things will start to warm up. By the weekend, highs will be near 90 degrees. Rain and storms may return by Sunday and continue into early next week.
