Bryce Gilmore made the trek from Texas last month to work out at Dabo Swinney’s high school camp.

It was the first time the 4-star offensive lineman (Prosper, TX) has ever been on campus.

“It was actually a great experience,” Underwood told The Clemson Insider. “It was a different camp than any I’ve went to. I really don’t know how to explain it. It was like, so fast paced. It was almost like a game setting. Didn’t have time to think back on what you did. You just had to forget and just learn to do better. Just taking the coaching in those moments.”

Gilmore was able to spend multiple days on campus, getting a lot of time to take in much of what Clemson has to offer.

“We had a lot of time,” Gilmore said. “We toured the facilities and they were really nice.”

The visit also gave him an opportunity to meet offensive line coach Matt Luke for the very first time and his coaching style really stood out.

“I think that he’s a really great coach,” he said. “Especially as an offensive line coach. I really like the way that he coaches.”

Luke was also able to give him really good feedback which will allow Gilmore to go into his junior season knowing some of the things he needs to work on.

“There were a few things he told me he wanted me to work on,” Gilmore said. “During the camp drills, he was telling me to finish. I guess I wasn’t finishing out there like he expected me to, but I will show that this year during the season.”

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound prospect is a Top 250 talent and already has close to 20 offers, including Arkansas, Nebraska, Oregon, Ole Miss, TCU and Utah. However, Gilmore still has two years of high school ball and knows that if he keeps developing more offers will follow, including a potential offer from the Tigers.

“It would mean a lot,” Gilmore said. “A lot of coaches told me they wanted to see me play a couple of games this season and if I do well, like at the last couple of camps and spring ball, the offer is waiting there.”

Gilmore is currently in no rush to make any decisions. Right now, he is just hoping to have one made by the end of next summer, so he can fully focus on his senior season in 2025. Until then, he will continue to go through the process as he attempts to find the best fit.

“Just the way they treat their players,” Gilmore said. And their education system. See how well they take the education at their school. Also the weight room and nutrition program are really big for me. Because if those two don’t line up and nutrition and recovery program isn’t up to where it needs to be as a college athlete, then that’s going to be a really big thing that could pull a school down maybe.”
