    Sunny, pleasant evening kicks off weekend

    (WJW) — Friday has been a SUN-sational day! It’s been warm, but not hot, and humidity levels are low. Temperatures are topping out in the upper 70s and lower 80s Friday afternoon.

    Friday evening will be a great evening to have dinner outside on the patio. Temperatures will slowly drop through the 70s and into the 60s.

    Friday night will be mostly clear. Overnight lows will range from the mid 50s to near 60 degrees in Cleveland.

    The heat will start to build back into the area this weekend. Highs on Saturday will be in the lower to mid 80s and in the mid to upper 80s on Sunday. There will also be no shortage of sunshine this weekend. Keep the sunscreen and sunglasses handy.

    The heat and humidity will continue through next week. Highs all next week will be in the mid to upper 80s. Scattered rain showers and storms will be possible at times next week as well. Right now, it looks like the highest coverage of rain next week will come on Tuesday.

    Rain is needed across much of Northeast Ohio. A large part of the area is under moderate drought conditions. Here’s a look at the official rainfall numbers from across the area since June 1. The rainfall deficit this summer in Cleveland is quickly approaching 3 inches. The rainfall deficit in Mansfield is over 5 inches.
