CLINTON TOWN, NJ - On July 15, 2024, The Friendly Sons of St. Patrick honored John Durling and his staff from JD’s Liquors for their past and continued support of their organization. Numerous Friendly Sons joined President Russ Crosby and FSSP Irish Festival Weekend Chair Brian Manning and presented John Durling with a plaque and a retired Irish flag that was flown on Main Street in Clinton this year. The flag was signed by members of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick Hunterdon Chapter.

According to Manning, “JD’s Liquors is a huge supporter of all our events, especially the Irish weekend. They donate beer trucks and serve at all our Irish Weekend Festival events. They are great people to work with.” JD’s was instrumental in logistics with handling alcohol; from taking care of licensing and permits to providing bartenders to serve the St. Patrick’s Day Festival events.

John Durling, owner of JD’s Liquors, the largest independent wine and spirits retailer in Clinton, said he is honored to be the recipient and to give back to the Hunterdon community.  “At JD’s we are happy to lend a hand to the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick, Hunterdon chapter. The Friendly Sons are a great bunch of guys coming together to give back to the Hunterdon County community, and it’s a fun way to combine my spirits with their spirit for helping.” JD’s will also be helping out at the annual golf outing on September 20th.

According to President Russ Crosby, the golf outing is the largest fund-raiser of the year, bringing in approximately $40-50,000.  While the golf outing is sold out, sponsorships, prize donations for the silent auction and tricky tray, gift cards and monetary donations and volunteering are all ways to still help out. Contact FSSPHunterdon@gmail.com for more information on the golf outing and for philanthropic support requests.
