The area includes the five north Idaho counties and extends into western Montana and parts of Washington's Pend Oreille County.

According the Forest Service, " The Coeur d Alene Dispatch Zone (which is also the Fire Restrictions Zone) has not yet met conditions for fire restrictions."

The interagency fire management group meets regularly to evaluate weather and fuel conditions.

The Forest Services asks people using the forest to not light campfires on windy days, check any trailer chains that could be dragging on the roads and dispose of cigarette butts properly.

Fireworks and exploding targets are illegal on federal public lands.
