Major SEC Program Trending For Five-Star Offensive Lineman

Five-star offensive tackles are a highly coveted commodity. One team is trending for one of the nation's best offensive lineman.

Texas recruiting insider Eric Nahlin predicts the Oklahoma Sooners to land Michael Fasusi. The Lewisville (TX) native ranks as the nation's No. 12 player and No. 3 offensive tackle in On3 Sports' 2025 recruiting rankings.

Fasusi appeared to trend toward Texas earlier in the cycle, but Oklahoma appears to be winning him over. It would be a massive head-to-head victory over the Sooners' top rival.

The potential addition would address one of the Sooners' biggest areas of need heading into the SEC. In a league that prides itself on play in the trenches, adding an elite offensive tackle bodes well for maximizing former five-star quarterback Jackson Arnold.

Oklahoma has made do with less heralded prospects. Offensive line coach Bill Bedenbaugh's track record of player development is littered with three-stars and four-stars turned NFL players. Even so, having a player of Fasusi's pedigree would certainly provide more upside to the unit.

Per On3 Sports, it would be the Sooners' first five-star offensive line addition since Brey Walker in 2018. Fasusi's raw tools would give Bedenbaugh a cornerstone player to build around.

Oklahoma will look to build on its No. 15 recruiting class in On3's 2025 Industry Ranking.
