Days before Week 0 of the 2024 college football season begins, ESPN has named Louis Riddick as the replacement for Robert Griffin III on its college football coverage for this fall.

The change in broadcast personnel follows ESPN's recent decision to fire Griffin III along with reporter Samantha Ponder on Thursday as part of a "budget cut" move.

Riddick will now fill in Griffin's former spot alongside the broadcast crew of Bob Wischusen and Kris Budden. Riddick previously worked with Mark Jones, who now has Roddy Jones at his side, with Quint Kessenich operating sideline duties.

As part of the reshuffling of broadcast crews, Dave Pasch and Dusty Dvoracek will also be back together as Taylor McGregor slides into Tom Luginbill’s role on the sideline. Luginbill will work the ACC Network Primetime game with Wes Durham and Dana Boyle, rounding out the movement in the marquee ESPN booths.

As ESPN ushers in its first season as the exclusive home of SEC football coverage, the broadcast booth will certainly take a different tone without Robert Griffin III's colorful analysis absent.

ESPN's first game as part of the new media rights deal will be on Aug. 31, when ABC will air the No. 14-ranked Clemson Tigers taking on the No. 1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs from Atlanta's Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the Aflac Kickoff game. The game is scheduled to begin at noon (ET).
