Major CFB Analyst Calls Texas A&M Aggies 'Unpredictable' in 2024

The Texas A&M Aggies enter 2024 as a team that could do a lot of different things.

While they have the talent right out of the gate in year one of the Mike Elko era to compete in the SEC , it wouldn't be shocking to see the new head coach need some more time to lay his foundation in College Station .

But with a relatively manageable schedule that sees the Aggies avoid most of the heavy hitters in the conference, there is certainly an opportunity to be had. Josh Pate of the Late Kick called Texas A&M one of the most unpredictable teams in the sport for the upcoming season that gets closer and closer by the day .

"The Mike Elko impact could be the kind of impact that for a top-15 'JP Poll' team, puts them in the playoff. Texas A&M could do that. If they're at their best this year, Conner Weigman is all the way back from injury, the defensive front can control games, the talent that you should know is there shows it face and there's all the sudden organization and accountability injected into the program, then A&M could be one of the surprises of the season," Pate said on his recent episode . "However, they're unpredictable because offensive line play , maybe it doesn't improve. They were 91st in rush yards per game last year. Maybe they don't have the quality depth that they need yet, maybe there's a learning curve...in a year of transition, you could have that kind of variability."

Pate is spot on when he talks about how much variability there is for this team as we sit just a few weeks from the season. The Aggies have everything in front of them and will have the talent to potentially push for a playoff spot if things are able to come together.

Just how quickly they do come together will go a long way towards determining the results of the 2024 season.
