(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department’s (CSPD) Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force along with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office (EPSO), and FBI Safe Streets were able to apprehend the suspect of an armed robbery who was considered armed and dangerous.

According to CSPD, on Tuesday, June 11 detectives tracked the suspect identified as 24-year-old Jahlique Dorsey to a home in the 200 block of Vehr Drive off of South Murray Boulevard. A CSPD detective requested help from the Tactical Enforcement Unit (TEU), Unmanned Aerial Unit (UAS), and CSPD K9 officers to aid in the arrest. At around 11 a.m., officers approached to make contact with Dorsey when he ran into the surrounding neighborhood.

A UAS officer quickly found Dorsey and tracked him as he attempted to evade police by jumping several privacy fences. Police said Dorsey then sought cover in heavy foliage to avoid detection by the UAS.

K9 Milo was deployed and led officers to Dorsey’s hiding place between two fences covered by dense bushes. Realizing he had been found Dorsey called his intention to surrender to officers, he was taken into custody without injury and was handed over to detectives.
