A’ja Wilson continues to set records, but it was the non-record-setting Gamecocks who made waves last week in the WNBA.

Atlanta Dream (7-13) Laeticia Amihere (11 games, 4.7 minutes, 1.2 pts, 1.9 rebs)

Against Connecticut, Amihere played a season-high 15 minutes and had a season-high six points and a career-high eight rebounds. It came in a lopsided loss, but it was still good to see Amihere hold her own in the WNBA.

    Last week:

    Vs Chicago (85-77 loss): DNP-CD

At Dallas (85-82 loss): 3 minutes, no stats

At Connecticut (80-67 loss): 15 minutes, 6 points, 8 rebounds, block, steal

    Allisha Gray (20 games (20 starts), 32.4 mpg, 16.1 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.5 apg, 1.0 spg)

Atlanta has been decimated by injuries and Gray is forced to do a little bit of everything as a result. The result is some big stat lines but some ugly losses.

    Last week:

Vs Chicago (85-77 loss): 35 minutes*, 19 points, 4 assists, 3 rebounds, steal

At Dallas (85-82 loss): 37 minutes*, 19 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds, steal, block

At Connecticut (80-67 loss): 21 minutes*, 19 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, steal

    Destanni Henderson (2 games, 12.5 mpg, 3.0 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 1.5 apg)

Henderson was in training camp with the Dream but was cut before the season began. Faced with mounting injuries, the Dream brought her back on a hardship contract on Friday. She suited up and played that night, and got substantial playing time on Sunday.

    Last week:

At Dallas (85-82 loss): 7 minutes, 2 points, 2 rebounds

    At Connecticut (80-67 loss): 19 minutes, 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists

    This week’s schedule:

Wednesday, July 10 at Chicago (Noon ET, League Pass)

Friday, July 12 vs Las Vegas (7:30 ET, Ion/League Pass)

Sunday, July 14 at Seattle (6:00 ET, League Pass)

    Chicago Sky (8-12)

    Kamilla Cardoso (14 games (11 starts), 25.4 mpg, 8.2 ppg, 7.8 rpg, 1.2 apg, 1.1 bpg)

Cardoso’s numbers seem to have leveled off. Chicago would probably like to see them a little higher, but Cardoso’s presence has helped Angel Reese thrive and the Sky pick up some wins.

    Last week:

At Atlanta (85-77 win): 27 minutes*, 8 points, 10 rebounds, assist, block

At Seattle (88-84 win): 34 minutes*, 9 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, assist, steal

At Seattle (84-71 loss): 20 minutes*, 6 points, 8 rebounds, 4 blocks, assist, steal

    This week’s schedule:

Wednesday, July 10 vs Atlanta (Noon ET, League Pass)

Thursday, July 11 at New York (7:00 ET, Amazon Prime)

Saturday, July 13 vs New York (1:00 ET, ABC)

    Connecticut Sun (17-4)

    Ty Harris (20 games (20 starts), 30.4 mpg, 11.2 ppg, 3.0 apg, 1.6 rpg, 1.2 spg)

Harris missed the Minnesota game due to illness but had a productive week.

    Last week:

At Phoenix (83-72 win): 23 minutes*, 12 points, assist, rebound

    At Minnesota (78-73 win): DNP-Illness

Vs Atlanta (80-67 win): 22 minutes*, 8 points, rebound

Tiffany Mitchell (21 games, 16.4 mpg, 5.0 ppg, 1.6 rpg)

Mitchell scored a season-high in the blowout win over Atlanta. She is the Sun’s leading bench scorer and one of their defensive stoppers.

    Last week:

At Phoenix (83-72 win): 15 minutes, 9 points, 3 assists, rebound

At Minnesota (78-73 win): 18 minutes, 4 points

Vs Atlanta (80-67 win): 21 minutes, 13 points, 3 rebounds, assist

    This week’s schedule:

Wednesday, July 10 vs New York (11:00 am ET, League Pass)

Sunday, July 14 vs Phoenix (1:00 ET, ABC)

    Indiana Fever (9-13)

    Aliyah Boston (22 games (22 starts), 30.6 mpg, 13.5 ppg, 8.4 rpg, 2.7 apg, 1.3 bpg)

Boston gave A’ja Wilson a battle in their matchup, but A’ja and the Aces wore down Boston and Indiana for an easy win. The Fever finally got their breakthrough win ove New York on Sunday. Boston is back to her rookie form and shot 58.6% from the floor last week.

    Last week:

At Las Vegas (88-69 loss): 36 minutes*, 18 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, steal, block

Vs New York (83-78 win): 33 minutes*, 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, steal

Victaria Saxton (6 games, 2.2 mpg, 0.5 ppg, 0.2 rpg)

Saxton did not play last week.

    Last week:

At Las Vegas (88-69 loss): DNP-CD

Vs New York (83-78 win): DNP-CD

    This week’s schedule:

Wednesday, July 10 vs Washington (Noon ET, League Pass)

    Las Vegas Aces (13-7)

    A’ja Wilson (20 games (20 starts), 33.8 mpg, 27.0 ppg, 10.9 rpg, 2.7 apg, 2.7 bpg, 1.8 spg)

Another week, another record. Against Dallas, Wilson became the Aces’ all-time leading scorer (the franchise, as the San Antonio (Silver) Stars and initially the Utah Starzz, is one of the WNBA’s original eight teams). She also set a WNBA record for most points through the first 20 games of a season. Wilson also went 3-4 from three against Dallas, in case you thought there was a weak spot in her game.

    Last week:

Vs Indiana (88-69 win): 36 minutes*, 28 points, 9 rebounds, 5 blocks, 2 steals, assist

    Vs Washington (98-77 win): 26 minutes*, 18 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, 3 blocks

    At Los Angeles (98-93 loss/OT): 41 minutes*, 35 points, 12 rebounds, 6 blocks, 3 assists

Vs Dallas (104-85 win): 31 minutes*, 28 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, steal

    This week’s schedule:

Wednesday, July 10 at Seattle (3:00 ET, League Pass)

Friday, July 12 at Atlanta (7:30 ET, Ion/League Pass)

Sunday, July 14 at Washington (3:00 ET, CBS Sports Network)

    Los Angeles Sparks (5-16)

    Zia Cooke (18 games, 9.1 mpg, 3.5 ppg, 0.7 rpg, 0.7 apg)

Cooke didn’t play as much last week and struggled with her shot against the Aces. But the three steals against Phoenix will help her earn more minutes.

    Last week:

Vs Washington (82-80 loss): 6 minutes, 2 points, assist

Vs Las Vegas (98-93 win/OT): 3 minutes, steal

Vs Phoenix (84-78 loss): 14 minutes, 5 points, 3 steals, assist

    This week’s schedule:

Tuesday, July 9 vs Minnesota (10:00 ET, League Pass)

Saturday, July 13 at Dallas (3:30 ET, CBS)

    Phoenix Mercury (11-10)

    Mikiah Herbert Harrigan (15 games (1 start), 9.8 mpg, 2.2 ppg, 1.1 rpg, 0.5 bpg, 0.5 spg)

Herbert Harrigan was back in the rotation for the injury-plagued Mercury last week. She made her first career start on Sunday and hit a three-pointer with 1:10 left that gave the Mercury a lead they would not surrender.

    Last week:

Vs Connecticut (83-72 loss): 13 minutes, 2 rebounds, steal

At Dallas (104-96 win): 9 minutes, no stats

At Los Angeles (84-78 win): 29 minutes*, 6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, steal

    This week’s schedule:

Wednesday, July 10 vs Dallas (3:30 ET, League Pass)

Friday, July 12 at Indiana (7:30 ET, Ion/League Pass)

Sunday, July 14 at Connecticut (1:00 ET, ABC)

    Unsigned

    Brea Beal

Las Vegas cut Beal early in training camp.

Alaina Coates (Preseason stats with Seattle: 2 games, 8.0 minutes, 3.0 pts, 1.0 reb, 1.0 block)

Coates got a long look in Seattle but didn’t fit in with the Storm’s rebuild. She’s got lots of experience, though, and will probably be one of the first calls for any team that needs post depth for the stretch run.

Kaela Davis (Preseason stats with Seattle: 2 games, 14.0 minutes, 1.5 points, 3.5 rebs)

Davis was hoping to show she was fully recovered from an Achilles injury, but she didn’t do enough to convince Seattle.
