    Local safety agencies share incident numbers from Independence Day festivities.

    COLUMBUS, Ga (WRBL) — The Fountain City hosted multiple events to celebrate Independence Day, here’s what local safety agencies report about them.

    The Columbus Police Department received a total of 557 calls and made approximately 24 arrests. CPD reports one DUI for the Fourth of July.

    The Department of Natural Resources reports having one incident of boating under the influence or BUI.

    At the three emergency rooms occupied by Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital, they report treating only three patients for firework related injuries.
