The Columbus Police Department is investigating after two people were pronounced dead Wednesday in Columbus, CPD said in a social media post .

The police department’s X post stated the investigation is underway in the 5600 block of Winvelly Drive. Winvelly Drive is located near Windsor park in a residential area in northeast Columbus.

Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan said Jerry Wayne Wilson, 79, and Angela Wilson, 72, were the two found dead. They were pronounced dead shortly after 9:30 a.m., Bryan said.

Bryan initially said the deaths were being investigated as a homicide-suicide. However, he later said the exact manner of the deaths wasn’t confirmed yet.

”We have a very good general idea of the manners of each death but withholding that information until the GBI can confirm,” Bryan said.
