The driver took a right turn too quickly, causing the trailer to roll over and forcing the truck to spin out. The suspect jumped out of the car and ran away from police when the truck stopped. Officers did not immediately locate the driver. LAPD searched the neighborhood for nearly 30 minutes until spotting the suspect walking through a nearby parking lot. He jumped from a storage container and onto a roof before falling into another parking lot. Officers set up a perimeter around the lot and sent a dog to find the driver. After a brief search, the suspect emerged from a porta-potty and surrendered to police.
