Red Fox Recovering in Colorado After Being Shot By An Arrow
A resilient Red Fox is on the road to recovery after surviving a heartbreaking incident last week. On June 19, Arvada Animal Management responded to a call about a juvenile Red Fox that had been shot with an arrow off of Quay Court in Arvada. Officers acted quickly and were able to safely contain the injured animal. The female fox was then transported to Rocky Mountain Wildlife Alliance Wildlife Hospital in Sedalia for emergency medical care.

Bicyclist dead following Tuesday morning I-76 crash
Eastbound lanes of Interstate 76 were closed in Arvada Tuesday morning following a fatal crash near Sheridan Boulevard. The crash led to an hours-long eastbound closure of I-76 between Sheridan and Wadsworth boulevards. Around 7:30 a.m., a tow truck and a front loader arrived at the scene to help clean up the wreck. The crash was officially cleaned up and the lanes were reopened around 8:30 a.m., according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. 9News contributed to this report
Denver replaces Indy Eve fireworks with drone show
The Civic Center Conservancy has re-imagined it's annual Indy Eve celebration; and this year, it will include a drone show. Many cities around the world have replaced fireworks displays with animated drone shows. This will be Denver's largest drone show ever, with 300 machines in the air at one time. After Almost a Year, Exploded House on Lincoln Street is Being Demolished
Demolition has started at the remains of a fourplex on Lincoln Street that exploded last August, but the owner won't be facing any fines. Cranes and workers wearing construction equipment are at 457-461 South Lincoln Street today, July 2, cleaning up rubble left behind after an explosion destroyed half the building and left its remains leaning toward a house next door. Since the explosion on August 10, 2023, the four units have been unoccupied and the damaged building next door has been empty, too, with the exception of squatters seen there by Westword several times.
