BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WMBD) — A man was sentenced to more than 100 years in prison on Monday for the death of Jaleel Johnson in Oct. 2020. According to McLean County Circuit Court records, Malcolm J. Johnson, 31, was sentenced to serve 123 years in prison. That breaks down to 75 years for murder, 45 years for attempted murder and three years for obstructing justice.
Normal police investigating after gunfire strikes apartment complex
NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD) — The Normal Police Department is investigating after a reported shooting near Northbrook Drive and Orlando Avenue on Tuesday. Normal Police Chief Steve Petrilli said in a Wednesday morning press release, officers responded just after 11:30 p.m. in the 1500 block of Northbrook Drive in Normal, Illinois. When officers arrived, they found damage to an apartment complex apparently struck by gunfire.

Half of these, the department notes, are false alarms, a significant drain on resources.
