Clay Center Elks 1st Annual Hardship Tour to Collect Funds for Hammond Family
The Clay Center Elks’ Lodge No. 2253 is holding their first annual Bikes, Blues, and BBQ Hardship Tour. The event will take place at the Clay Center Elks’ Lodge on July 26 from 4-10 p.m. The Hardship Tour’s main event will be a Bike Show with the crowd favorite winning a $100 cash prize. Entry for the show is $10. The event will also feature a pulled pork meal in exchange for a $10 donation and music from blues artist Rick Stanley.
KCAC tournaments no longer coming to Great Bend
The City of Great Bend and the Great Bend Recreation Commission announce that the KCAC Softball and Baseball Championship will no longer be held in Great Bend. The decision comes as a result of new leadership and revised strategic goals within the KCAC, which include selecting a location with more hotel accommodations and a more central position relative to the league's schools.

Lawrence Municipal Court to accept $15 of school supplies to cover $50 of fines
For a second year running, Lawrence Municipal Court is holding a school supply drive that will allow people to pay off $50 in fines with $15 worth of school supplies. “Participants can purchase $15 worth of new school supplies from the approved supply list below and bring them to the Lawrence Municipal Court along with the receipt to get $50 credited towards a traffic infraction and/or parking fines,” according to a Friday news release from the city.
