Driving Force Band performing in Troy
TROY — The Driving Force Band is a classic rock and party band comprised of seasoned musicians playing the best music of the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. Throwing in a few country hits, 80’s hits, and dance music, they strive to cover everyone’s favorites. The band possesses tight 3 and 4-part harmony and works hard to replicate the songs as close to the original as possible. You can expect to hear some Journey, some Styx, and anything from the Eagles to Prince, to Keith Urban.
County removes cats from Our Farm Sanctuary, charges filed against Director
Complaints by current, former volunteers lead to search warrant. Animal Control Officers from the Miami County Animal Shelter removed more than 40 cats from Our Farm Sanctuary on Agenbroad Road on Monday, July 15. They executed a search warrant in response to recent complaints filed by a group of past and present volunteers.
Wristbands available July 27 for Versailles FareFest
VERSAILLES — The Versailles FareFest is schedule to take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Aug. 17 in downtown Versailles. Though who purchase wristbands to the event will receive a complimentary crystal wine glass while experiencing three hours of unlimited beer, wine and food. This year, multiple Miami Valley restaurants will be featured, along with three live bands. To complement the food, over 40 beers and 100 wine options from wineries and distillers throughout the country will be offered.

Americana Wing and Lowell Thomas exhibit reopens
GREENVILLE — The tornado on May 7 disrupted a lot of lives and caused a lot of damage to a large swath of area in the City of Greenville. Although life has returned to normal for most, the destruction that was caused is still evident. Buildings have yet to be repaired in the City Park, roofs remain covered with blue tarps awaiting roofing crews to become available to make repairs and some are still waiting for trees to be completely cleared.

The Darke County Animal Shelter has 3 new dogs available for adoption. They got the Bordatella and Parvo/Lepto/Distemper vaccines and are heartworm negative, dewormed and microchipped. Sidney Civic Band to present its final concert of summer Friday
SIDNEY — The Sidney Civic Band will return at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Courthouse Square for its last concert of the summer. The concert is titled “Crooners.”. Conductor Kathy McIntosh will kick off the program with “Salute to Old Blue Eyes,” a medley of hits by Frank Sinatra. The concert will include tunes made famous by vocalists who sang the music of the Great American Songbook like Johnny Mercer, Bing Crosby, and Tony Bennett, as well as pop singers like Barry Manilow and BJ Thomas.
