Dayton-area manufacturing firm to lay off over 60 employees
DAYTON, Ohio (Dayton Business Journal) -- A Michigan-based firm manufacturer will lay off numerous employees at its Dayton location within the next few months. idX Corp. - known for manufacturing retail displays and store fixtures - is implementing a substantial reduction in workforce at its facility located at 2875 Needmore Road. The firm disclosed the layoff plans in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act (WARN) notice, saying 62 associates would lose their jobs - most in mid-September.
Buckeye Pizza of JC opens in Jackson Center
JACKSON CENTER — Buckeye Pizza of JC had a soft opening over the weekend. The family-owned establishment is located at the former Heidout Bar in Jackson Center. Along with the usual pizza shop food, the restaurant will be serving loaded nachos, salads, pasta dishes and funnel cake fries. Customer Jim Dykes stated that he is impressed by the brilliant service and great food.
Studio Session: "Lit as Funk" brings Dayton's DIY music scene to the State Theater
On July 26, the State Theater in Springfield will host Lit as Funk, a showcase of Dayton-area musicians presented by Art Parkd.
