With thousands of restaurants in Wisconsin serving up delicious burgers, you may find yourself wondering which one reigns supreme. Look no further! The winner of the Wisconsin Beef Council’s Best Burger Contest has been crowned right here in central Wisconsin.
The Wisconsin Beef Council has announced that Pickles Bar and Grill in Hazelhurst has taken the top spot with their ‘All American Burger’, winning the inaugural Wisconsin’s Best Burger Contest.
The All American Burger is a half-pound masterpiece featuring lettuce, tomato, raw onion, smoked garlic mayo, and your choice of cheese. Crafted from a special blend of brisket, short rib, and ground chuck, seasoned with our unique house blend, each bite is a taste of perfection.
“We are truly honored to have our All American Burger named as the winner of the Wisconsin Beef Council’s 2024 Best Burger Contest,” said Justin Koshak, co-owner of Pickles along with Dan Linscott. “We take pride in representing the culinary excellence of the Northwoods through our restaurant, tavern, and grill. There are so many incredible spots up here showcasing fantastic menus and incredible food.”
Linscott, the genius behind these delectable burgers, has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant industry. He meticulously perfected the blend of meats to create the ultimate burger experience.
The Wisconsin Beef Council designed this contest to seek out and promote 100% beef burgers prepared in Wisconsin restaurants. Pickles Bar and Grill emerged victorious, earning the highest score from a secret panel of three judges who visited the Elite Eight restaurants named in the contest.
“We are thrilled with the overwhelming response from Wisconsin residents for this contest,” said Tammy Vaassen, executive director of the Wisconsin Beef Council. “We are honored to have Pickles as our first-ever winner. Judges' comments included: ‘the burger was juicy and thick, the bun was delicious, cooked to perfection, the flavor was amazing, and the owner stopped by several times to check on us.’”
“It’s awesome, it’s very rewarding,” Koshak added. “It’s great to represent the Northwoods overall and showcase the culinary expertise we have up here.”
