Records show RTD chief of police, now under investigation, routinely drove agency vehicle over 100 mph
The Regional Transportation District's chief of police routinely drove an agency vehicle over 100 mph, data obtained by CPR News show. Data logged by a transponder attached to the vehicle assigned to Joel Fitzgerald, Sr. recorded more than a dozen trips where the vehicle was traveling over 100 mph, and dozens of trips over 90 mph, between November 2023 and May 2024.

Colorado Springs man arrested for property damage, assaulting officer
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) -A man is in jail after damaging property and assaulting a police officer, authorities say. At around 10 a.m. Friday, Colorado Springs Police Department responded to a trespassing call along East Cimarron Street. Police says the suspect, Alexander Bucspun, had damaged property but had left the scene by the time officers arrived.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife officers rescued an owl from a tree in Colorado Springs on Tuesday. CPW officers Travis Sauder and Deme McDowell responded to a call reporting a Great horned owl stuck in a tree.
