Looking forward to a small taste of fall, after the rain chances come to an end

Weather Headline: Scattered rain showers today, dryer air by the weekend.

What We Are Tracking: Still watching a persistent area of low pressure just off the Texas coast. Chances are small regarding future development, regardless it will keep rain chances for our area until Friday. Cold front moves through Friday, allowing for dryer air to filter into the Crossroads, while pushing the clouds and rain eastward. A taste of fall by the weekend, with lows in the mid 60's, with lower humidity. Humidity and rain chances return by middle of next week. A tropical wave in the Caribbean Sea, and is forecast to move into the Gulf by the weekend. Looks like this system will provide rain chances to return midweek nest week.

A Closer Look: Scattered thunderstorms in the area today and tomorrow,  winding down on Friday afternoon. Dryer air moves in, clearing us out this weekend.

Plan My Day: Partly cloudy skies for Friday, with a chance of thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon. Highs upper 80's, lows in the lower 70's.
